"American Athletic Conference Commissioner Mike Aresco announced today that Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, has been selected to host the 2020-22 American Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Championships. The dates of the championships will be March 12-15, 2020; March 11-14, 2021; and March 10-13, 2022...."

Agreed. Low hurdle here but it is so much more charming than downtown St. Louis (what isn't).

They've barely broken ground, although the parking garage is coming along nicely. Expected completion date late 2019. No doubt assurances have been given, but 60 days after the end of 2019 the AAC is going to be pulling into town, and that margin leaves the air a little too thin for this cowboy.

This won't be right in Downtown Ft. Worth will it? Looks like it will be in the Will Roger Memorial Center which looks to be about 1.5 miles, maybe 2) west of downtown. Still plenty close enough if you want to go downtown though. I like the location.

The annual Ft. Worth Stock Show and Rodeo will occupy the arena for 3 weeks beginning January 12th for the 2018 event. Not Pretty Prairie but I bet it's pretty good.

That not much arena for the money. And the architecture is such that it will look 75 years old the day it is completed, and not in a classic and timeless sort of way, but more like here's the ol' horse barn at the state fairgrounds sort of way.
